That means that throughout the year the CPG trailer and technicians will be on hand at races, major automotive events and trade shows across the nation. Some of the highlight stops for 2013 will include a variety of national and regional NHRA events, Goodguys car shows, every stop of Hot Rod Power Tour in early June, the Car Craft Summer Nationals in St. Paul, MN, from July 18th-21st; the NSRA Street Rod Nationals on August 4th-7th; Frog Follies in Evansville, IN, on August 22nd-25th; and the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona Beach, FL, from November 21st-24th. At every stop throughout the year the trailer will display the latest products from COMP Cams®, TCI®, FAST™, Quarter Master®, Inglese™, RHS®, ZEX™ and Powerhouse® Products. CPG technicians will also be on hand at each location to answer questions, provide technical advice, distribute product literature and sell parts and merchandise.

Once again in 2013, the COMP Performance Group™ trailer and staff will be there every step of the way on Hot Rod Power Tour - one of the biggest and best road trips in the nation for performance enthusiasts. A variety of special events are scheduled throughout the week, including a highly-anticipated cruise night in downtown Memphis (home of CPG) on the evening of Tuesday, June 4th. Among other special promotions slated for the week is the return of the popular Golden Ticket contest. In this program Long Haulers are rewarded for promoting and supporting CPG brands such as COMP Cams®, TCI®, FAST™, ZEX™, RHS®, Quarter Master®, Inglese™ and others. CPG event staff will scour the grounds at each location, and will hand out up to 25 Golden Tickets during the week. The contest culminates in Charlotte on Saturday, June 7th, when one name will be randomly drawn to win a product certificate valued at $10,000; it can be used on a single purchase across any of the COMP Performance Group™ brands. Participants must be present to win, and all ticketholders must have their tickets in hand at the drawing. Nightly stage drawings are open to all participants at each Power Tour stop throughout the week as well. Individuals will simply enter their information at the CPG trailer, and then be must be present that evening when the winner’s name is drawn. The prizes consist of CPG products or certificates valued at $200-$500. The drop box will be cleared out each day, so attendees must enter at each location. Meanwhile, three separate COMP Cams® Engine Builder Duels are scheduled with contests slated for Monday, June 3rd through Wednesday, June 5th in Little Rock, Memphis and Birmingham, respectively. The duel pits two, two-person teams against one another to see which one can completely assemble and crank a Small Block Chevy in the shortest amount of time. Finally, this year CPG’s FAST™ fuel injection brand take will over as the Main Stage sponsor. This placement is sure to draw plenty of attention to the emerging leader in EFI technology.

The TCI® Flexplate For GM 6L80E Transmissions is designed to stand up to all racing & performance conditions.

Durability at high RPM can be compromised by an inferior flexplate. In order to prevent this common failure in performance applications utilizing GM 6L80 transmissions, such as 2010-Current Chevrolet Camaros and Pontiac G8s, TCI® developed a precision-ground, high-tensile strength, steel flexplate. Each flexplate is 33% thicker than stock, helping to prevent elongation and cracking. The flexplate is dynamically balanced to eliminate potentially damaging vibrations,
electro-coated to protect against damaging elements and uses low-profile bolts to provide proper clearance. All of this provides unmatched strength and reliability in order to avoid cracking and ring gear breakage, both common failure points of lesser quality flexplates under the strains of high-RPM usage. The flexplates feature a dual-bolt pattern of 10.750" and 11.063." The TCI® Flexplate For GM6L80E Transmissions is SFI 29.1 approved and designed to be used in conjunction with the new TCI® Bolt-Together Torque Converter For GM6L80E Transmissions.

Making sure that your throttle valve cable is adjusted properly is essential for providing exact shift points and maintaining the life of your transmission. It is especially crucial to ensure that this cable is adjusted correctly when installing a GM 700R4 or 2004R transmission in a non-stock application featuring either an Edelbrock or a Holley carburetor. If not adjusted correctly, serious damage could occur.

The 2012 Car Craft Summer Nationals may be in the history books, but the smoking burnouts from St. Paul, MN, will live forever with the latest video from TCI^®. Featuring rat rods, muscle cars, trucks and even The Mystery Machine, this year’s event had something for every taste. The show treated the large crowd in attendance to 30 seconds worth of burned rubber from each vehicle that took its place in the burnout box. The video captures the crowd reaction too - the bigger the burnout and the higher the cost, the louder the cheer. The top five finishers were presented with product certificates good for any TCI^® product, from RollStop^® Kits that allow any driver to do burnouts like the pros, to transmissions, torque converters and much more. The original TCI^® Super StreetFighter™ Transmission bridged the gap between the StreetFighter™ series of transmissions and the full competition packages. The newest version of the Super StreetFigher™ includes all of the features of the original, as well as the ability to handle 1000+ horsepower. It is also updated with a new 300M input shaft to allow for much greater torque capacity. Upgraded 3-4 clutches are capable of handling higher levels of torque, and also extend clutch life. An improved sungear shaft reduces friction and increases its longevity. Numerous other upgrades such as an adjustable band pin, an extra-wide band featuring High Energy™ material and increased line pressure not only increase the longevity of the transmission but also its overall torque capacity. The TCI^® Super StreetFighter™ GM 700R4 Transmission is designed for higher horsepower and higher torque street/strip applications.

The TCI® Gen 1 SBC/BBC-Style Flexplate is SFI approved, in stock and ready to ship.

Small and Big Block Chevy engines are capable of making big horsepower. However, durability at high RPM can be compromised by an inferior flexplate. In order to prevent this common failure in performance applications, TCI® developed a precision stamped steel flexplate that is .035″ thicker than factory flexplates. The extra thickness will provide years of reliable service, making it a must have for any internally balanced Gen 1 SBC/BBC-style performance application. The ring gear is custom machined to form a perfect I.D. circle before the flexplate is welded in place on both sides.

This creates a better, stronger fit that minimizes runout, ring gear bounce and other damaging problems. The 168-tooth flexplate is dynamically balanced to eliminate potentially damaging vibrations and electro-coated to protect against damaging elements. The flexplate’s integrated early style dual converter bolt pattern can be used with Gen 1 SBC/BBC-style torque converters and TH350/400, Powerglide, 700R4, 2004R and 4L60E/65E/70E transmissions.

The TCI® Gen 1 SBC/BBC-Style Flexplate is the perfect upgrade for anyone running one of these strong, inexpensive and no-electronics-needed transmissions. Fully SFI 29.1 approved, this flexplate offers unmatched strength and reliability in order to avoid cracking and ring gear breakage, which are both common failure points of lesser quality flexplates under the strains of high RPM usage. It is the perfect choice for race and hardcore street applications.

Unlike other balancers that simply dampen vibration, The TCI® Rattler® Torsional Vibration Absorber eliminates the root cause of torsional vibration altogether.

All internal combustion engines display crankshaft torsional vibration. The job of the Rattler® Torsional Vibration Absorber is to counteract those vibrations by using internal rollers that automatically offset the twisting forces that cause vibration to happen. The Rattler® utilizes patented pendulum absorber technology, developed for the aviation industry, to control amplitudes of vibration and angle of crankshaft twist like no other design. Its ability to absorb rather than dampen is the key to its success. The Rattler® is effective for the entire RPM range, and extends crankshaft and bearing life.

The Rattler® also has the ability to allow the engine to run smoother during operation, which can potentially increase valve train stability and longevity. Unlike traditional dampers, the design does not utilize viscous fluids or elastomers and requires virtually no maintenance, and is lighter in weight than most units of the same size and material construction. The TCI® Rattler® is available for all popular Ford, Chevrolet (including some LS), Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Buick street and race applications.

Here TCI® features its industry-largest selection of high performance flexplates. The main job of a flexplate is to connect an automatic transmission’s torque converter to the engine’s crankshaft. All automatic transmissions have flexplates, however, they come in a variety of styles with differing features dependent upon application. A stamped flexplate for instance is designed to serve as a mild to medium stock replacement, while the machined version is designed to handle the stresses of high performance applications. COMP Cams® and the COMP Performance Group™ companies return to support Hot Rod Drag Week participants in a big way during the 2012 tour.

This September more than 200 hand-selected drivers and cars will take part in the 8th annual Hot Rod Drag Week, a 5-day, 1100-mile round trip journey that every year redefines the term “street/strip machine.” The 2012 edition of the racing road trip will take place from September 9th-14th, during which time each participant will visit four separate drag strips, compete daily in one of 15 classes (some with cars making passes in as little as six seconds) and then drive his or her high performance ride to the next stop on the tour. And they do it all without trailers or support vehicles; all cars are required to travel with all tools, provisions and equipment on board.

COMP Cams® is proud to be back supporting this week long display of big, streetable horsepower. As part of its participation, COMP® will present the Engine Builder Challenge and provide prizes for the winning engine builders in each class. Meanwhile, sister companies FAST™ and TCI® will serve as the official fuel injection and official transmission of the program, respectively, and will also provide contingency prizes. This year’s Drag Week kicks off on Sunday, September 9th with a Test & Tune and mandatory tech inspection at Tulsa Raceway Park in Oklahoma. The first race day takes place at that track the next day, before moving onto Ennis, TX, and the Texas Motorplex on Tuesday, September 11th. Race day number three is on Wednesday, September 12th, at Thunder Road Raceway in Gilliam, LA. From there the cars drive to Tennessee and Memphis International Raceway for the fourth race day on Thursday, September 13th. Upon leaving Memphis the street/strip cars once again head west to Oklahoma for the afternoon finals on Friday, September 14th, back at Tulsa Raceway Park. Ashland, MS – The TCI^® Transmission Floor Jack Adapter turns nearly any standard floor jack into a 12″ x 12″ transmission jack.

The TCI^® transmission floor jack adapter eliminates the need to clutter your garage with a second, expensive jack just for transmission work. Engineers at TCI^® utilized cutting-edge manufacturing techniques to create new ultra durable 700R4 and 4L60/4L60E Input Shafts that won't twist or break under the stress of high horsepower applications that utilize a 700R4 or 4L60/4L60E transmission. The shafts are made from a heat-treated, billet 300M material with a higher yield strength that resists breakage and results in less shaft twisting than OEM material. Precision ground busing rides ensure smooth surface to eliminate premature bushing failure. Rolled splines stop unnecessary hobbed areas that occur when cut with a gear hob. This increases the strength and density of the material in the splined areas because rather than removing material, the splines are actually compacted, which causes the material to be more dense in this area. These new Input Shafts are a must for high-horsepower applications that utilize a 700R4 or 4L60/4L60E transmission to eliminate the input shaft breakage issues common in lesser quality products.

After proving to be a crowd favorite once again during the 2011 Hot Rod Power Tour, the COMP Cams^® Engine Builder Duel presented by Snap-On Tools will take place during the NSRA Street Rod Nationals on August 4-7 at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, KY. The contest, which is making its Street Rod Nationals debut this year, pits two, two-person teams against each other to see who can completely assemble and run a Small Block Chevy engine in the shortest amount of time. Memphis, TN − As the summer heat begins to reign supreme throughout the South, racers and fans know that it means the 19th Annual COMP Cams^® Topless 100 is just around the corner. The mega-event is scheduled for August 18th-20th, 2011, at the picturesque Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas).

While many other areas of the country play host to "crown jewel" events each year, the Topless 100 is arguably the South’s only true elite event. While many insiders in the sport argue what does and doesn't qualify an event as a crown jewel, most agree that there are few events in the South that meet the criteria for the status. The Topless 100, however, definitely makes the cut. For the past eighteen years, the event, which was the brainchild of Batesville Motor Speedway general manager and promoter Mooney Starr, has been the biggest paying Dirt Late Model event in the South. With the big paydays each year come incredibly talented fields of cars at the 3/8 mile oval track, and over the years there have been some truly memorable moments.

The $40,000 first place check for the 100 lap event is no doubt a tasty incentive for any driver, but the prestige that goes with a COMP Cams^® Topless 100 title is equally appetizing for drivers from the region.

Batesville, Arkansas driver Billy Moyer, Jr., has been part of several COMP Cams^® Topless 100 victory celebrations before, but they have come with his dad, the legendary Billy Moyer, in victory lane.

"I've been to victory lane with Dad four times now over the years, and that's really cool," comments Moyer, Jr. "However, I want to know what it feels like to be the one lifting that trophy over my head at this event. I grew up going to this race, and dreaming of racing in it one day and winning it. The best drivers in the country are right here in my backyard that weekend, and it's my chance to be the best. I probably want that win more than any other. We just don't have many races of that magnitude in this area."

A fellow Batesville native got to do the unthinkable at the event in 2010, as Jared Landers killed two birds with one stone by getting his first Dirt Late Model win and his COMP Cams^® Topless 100 victory at the same time.

"It was all so unbelievable. I grew up in Batesville so obviously I've been going to that track my whole life, and I've seen every COMP Cams^® Topless 100,” states the 29-year-old Landers. “As a kid you dream of winning that race, but it just seems so impossible. To win that race last year, which was also my first Super Late Model win, was unreal. Everybody asked me when it finally hit me that I had won the Topless 100, and to be honest it was probably that next week, while I was looking at the trophy in my shop. It still seems so unreal."

CPG and the long haulers spent a week traveling north until the final stop in Detroit, MI, on June 10^th.  However, on June 11^th, many of the long haulers went on to the GM Proving Grounds, where they put their cars and their driving skills to the test.
