1.0 Introduction

Congratulations! You have just purchased the finest aftermarket performance transmission control system available for the GM 4L60E/4L65E, 4L80E/4L85E & Ford AODE/4R70W, E4OD/4R100 electronic transmissions. This control unit and programming software is designed to work with either unit. This reference manual provides you with a step-by-step guide to a PC-based control system for our Transmission Control Unit. This software allows you, through your PC, to take precise control and alter the feel of a gearshift, the timing of the gearshift and the application of the lock-up in the torque converter. T-Com™ also allows you to have the transmission shift at wide open throttle (WOT) solely as a function of engine rpm, while it continues to follow shift curves based on road speed and throttle position during part throttle driving.

1.1 Software License Agreement

READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE OPENING THE PACKAGE(S) CONTAINING THE CD-ROM OR DISKETTES (“DISKETTES”), CIRCUIT BOARD(S) AND INTEGRATED CIRCUIT(S). AND THE ACCOMPANYING USER DOCUMENTATION. THE DISKETTES HAVE SOFTWARE STORED THEREON. THE CIRCUIT BOARDS AND INTEGRATED CIRCUITS HAVE SOFTWARE AND/OR FIRMWARE STORED THEREIN. THE SOFTWARE AND FIRMWARE (“SOFTWARE”) IS COPYRIGHTED AND LICENSED (NOT SOLD). BY OPENING THE PACKAGE(S) CONTAINING THE SOFTWARE, YOU ARE ACCEPTING AND AGREEING TO THE TERMS OF THIS SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT. IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT. YOU SHOULD PROMPTLY RETURN THE PACKAGE(S) IN UNOPENED FORM TO TCI AUTOMOTIVE, LLC, AND YOU WILL RECEIVE A REFUND OF YOUR MONEY. THIS SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT REPRESENTS THE ENTIRE AGREEMENT CONCERNING THE SOFTWARE BETWEEN YOU AND TCI AUTOMOTIVE, LLC (“TCI AUTOMOTIVE”). AND IT SUPERSEDES ANY PRIOR PROPOSAL, REPRESENTATION OR UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE PARTIES.

TCI Automotive hereby grants to you, and you accept, a nonexclusive license to use the Software in machine-readable, object code form only, solely in the United States of America and only as authorized in this Software License Agreement. The Software may be used only on a single computer and/or circuit board owned, leased, or otherwise controlled by you; or in the event of the inoperability of that computer and/or circuit board, on a backup computer selected by you. Neither concurrent use on two or more computers nor use in a local area network or other network is permitted without separate authorization. You agree that you will not assign, sublicense, transfer, pledge, lease, rent or share your rights under this Software License Agreement. You agree that you may not reverse assemble, reverse compile or otherwise translate or reverse engineer the Software, Upon loading the Software stored on the Diskettes into your computer, you may retain the Diskettes for backup purposes. In addition, you may make one copy of the Software stored on the Diskettes on a second set of diskettes (or on tape) for the purpose of back­up in the event the Diskettes are damaged or destroyed, Any such copies of the Software shall include TCI Automotive’s copyright and other proprietary notices. You may not make any extra copies of the Software stored on the Circuit Boards or the Integrated Circuits, Except as authorized under this paragraph, no copies or modifications of the Software or any portions thereof may be made by you or any person under your authority or control. You acknowledge and agree that the Software and User Documentation are proprietary products of TCI Automotive protected under U.S. copyright law. You further acknowledge and agree that all right, title and interest in and to the Software, including associated intellectual property rights, including but not limited to patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade secret rights are and shall remain with TCI Automotive. You further acknowledge that TCI Automotive holds title to each copy, extract or derivation of the Software or portion thereof, This Software License Agreement does not convey to you an interest in or to the Software, but only a limited right of use revocable in accordance with the terms of this Software License Agreement.

This Software License Agreement is effective upon your opening of the package(s) and shall continue until terminated. You may terminate this Software License Agreement at any time by returning the Software and all copies thereof and extracts and derivations there from to TCI Automotive. TCI Automotive may terminate this Software License Agreement upon the breach by you of any term hereof. Upon such termination by TCI Automotive, you agree to return to TCI Automotive the Software and all copies and portions thereof. TCI Automotive does not warrant that the functions contained in the Software will meet your requirements or that the operation of the Software will be uninterrupted or error-free. TCI Automotive warrants, however, that the media on which the Software is furnished to you will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of delivery (“Warranty Period”). Your exclusive remedy under this limited warranty is the replacement of any defective physical media on which the Software is furnished as provided below. To receive a replacement for defective media under this limited warranty, return the defective media to TCI Automotive during the Warranty Period with proof of payment.

EXCEPT AS PROVIDED ABOVE, THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND PERFOR­MANCE OF THE LICENSED PRODUCT IS WITH YOU.TCI AUTOMOTIVE’S SOLE OBLIGATION OR LIABILITY UNDER THIS SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT IS THE REPLACEMENT OF DEFECTIVE MEDIA ACCORDING TO THE LIMITED WARRANTY ABOVE. IN NO EVENT WILL TCI AUTOMOTIVE BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL OR INDIRECT DAMAGES INCLUDING, WITH­OUT LIMITATION, ANY LOSS OF DATA OR LOSS OF USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE OR DOCUMENTATION, EVEN IF TCI AUTOMOTIVE HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY CLAIM BY ANY THIRD PARTY, IN NO EVENT SHALL TCI AUTOMOTIVE BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES.

“TCI", "T-Com” and “T-Com™ WP” are trademarks of TCI Automotive, LLC. No right, license or interest to such trademark is granted hereunder, and you agree that no such right, license or interest shall be asserted by you with respect to such trademark.

This Software License Agreement shall be construed and governed in accordance with the laws of the State of Mississippi. If any action is brought by either party to this Software License Agreement against the other party regarding the subject matter hereof, the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover, in addition to any other relief granted, reasonable attorney fees and expenses of litigation. Should any term of this Software License Agreement be declared void or unenforceable by any court of competent jurisdiction, such declaration shall have no effect on the remaining terms hereof. The failure of either party to enforce any rights granted hereunder or to take action against the other party in the event of any breach hereunder shall not be deemed a waiver by that party as to subsequent enforcement of rights or subsequent actions in the event of future breaches.

1.2 System Overview

 T-Com™ WP is designed to allow maximum tuning for the performance enthusiast. The system comes pre-loaded with a transmission calibration that works well in many performance applications. There are only four fields in the Global Calibration that MUST be entered for the system to function in its pre-programmed calibration. In order to get the system up and running you simply enter (1) rear tire diameter, (2) rear gear ratio, (3) number of engine cylinders, and (4) which transmission you are using (GM 4L60E/4L65E, 4L80E/4L85E & Ford AODE/4R70W, E4OD/4R100).Since different users can have wide-ranging expectations of how hard and when they want the transmission to shift, our easy edit features allow for 'customizing' the characteristics to meet those expectations. CAUTION: Setting duty cycles to minimum line pressures on the force motor tables can result in slipping clutches. Changes in the line pressure duty cycle should be made in small increments.
